Design your feminist mentorship model with girls. Get started here.
At She’s the First, we work to create a strong ecosystem of support for the most underserved girls in the face of gender oppression systems. We’ve seen that feminist mentorship is an important part of a girl’s support system.
Feminist mentors are essential to safeguarding girls’ rights to be educated, respected, and heard. This manual serves as a resource for mentors who are developing programs and want to support their mentees from a feminist standpoint. It’s available in English and Spanish.
In this manual, we will introduce you to four principles of feminist mentorship and help you think through how this applies to your mentorship style. We will explore some of the differences between traditional and feminist mentorship and give you ideas so that you can design your own mentorship style with your mentees that works in your setting.
