Are you a girl*?

No matter where you live in the world, you belong here. She’s the First is your organization. We are accountable to you. Our goal is to shift more power to you, while also fighting for every right you deserve.

Here you’ll find the activism programming, leadership opportunities, and tools that She’s the First has created to help you exercise your power.

*If you identify with the experiences of girls (gender-nonconforming, genderfluid, transfeminine experiences included) and are up to the age 22, then we’re talking to you!

Activism Programs

Your ideas matter, and the world needs to hear them.
If you're ready to speak up for your rights and the rights of other girls in your community, if you're interested in learning activism and leadership skills, and if you know that girls are powerful, join one of our girl-led activism programs!

You can start or join an STF Chapter, a club that fights for girls’ rights everywhere.

She’s the First will teach you how to take local action for gender equality, and you will connect with like-minded peers from around the world.

She's the First's Girl Activist Fellowship offers a world-class training and mentorship experience where you'll learn exactly how to envision, plan, and execute your own activism campaign.

These campaigns are brought to our global audience each year with the support of our staff.

The Girls Advisory Council is your chance to shape the future by advising She’s the First about our programs and initiatives that impact girls globally.

Girls Advisory Council members work with She’s the First staff, board, and girls from around the world to contribute valuable insights and identify new ways to broaden STF’s impact.

Two members are appointed as representatives to our Board of Directors.

You can make a big difference in your own community! Use our toolkits and guidebooks to organize girls to talk about and take action for your rights.

The Global Girls’ Bill of Rights Toolkit
Download this toolkit for guidance on how to organize a local event or use social media to raise awareness for girls’ rights.

The Discover Your Power Journal
If you’re age 13-17, use this journal to tap your inner power to speak up and advocate for yourself and set future goals. You can do it with friends!

Advocating for yourself includes understanding your body. Download My Period Diary to record when your period starts, how long it lasts, and keep track of any signs and symptoms you may have. This is a manual (a.k.a. printable) tracker—we made it so it’s accessible for girls who don’t have access to the internet or smart phones—or if you just prefer to keep your health data out of the cloud.

Girl Talk features essays, interviews, art, and resources by and for girls all around the world.

Girls have a lot to say about their rights—to education, safety, and more—and it's time we listen!

We publish work from girls within our programs and those of our partners.
