Each year, She’s the First programs directly impact more than 159,700 girls across 42 countries.
Over the past 14 years, we’ve created transformational outcomes for 563,741 girls by working alongside 685 community organizations in 42 countries!
Sometimes, this impact manifests in girls having access to education and mentorship (you can watch many of those stories below), but that is not all. Through our activism training programs for girls, as well as our training programs for girl-serving organizations, we measure transformational impact in several ways, including:
Among the women-led organizations we train:
Strategic Plan
The Power Plan lays out our programmatic goals and the steps we'll take to get there.
For the next three years, we’ll focus our efforts on two main goals to increase girls’ power at multiple levels. We’ll:
Build coalitions to positively impact girls’ agency, access, and equity in community-based organizations (CBOs).
Provide girls with the foundation they need to advocate for their rights in their families, communities, and societies.
Monitoring & Evaluation
She’s the First conducts ongoing evaluation through pre-and post-surveys, focus groups, semi-structured interviews, and direct observation. For each training or programming initiative, we conduct a baseline survey and a follow-up within one year to assess progress made.
